Rob Ninkovich ( Full name: Robert Michael Ninkovich) is a retired American football outside linebacker. He played 11 seasons in National Football League (NFL) and as a defensive end for college football at Purdue. In the fifth round of the 2006 NFL Draft, Rob was drafted by the New Orleans Saints. He as well played for the Miami Dolphins and New England Patriots.
With the latter, Rob won two Super Bowls. Rob announced his retirement from the NFL after 2016 following eight seasons with the Patriots. In July 2019, Rob joined ESPN as an NFL analyst. Hist his freshman and sophomore year was spent at Lincoln-Way East High School in Frankfort. His junior and senior years were spent at Lincoln-Way Central High School in New Lenox. The New Orleans Saints signed Rob to a three-year, $1.22 million contract On July 18, 2006, and selected him in the fifth round (135th overall) of the 2006 NFL Draft. He competed against Charles Grant, Willie Whitehead, and Eric Moore throughout training camp for the job as the starting defensive end. The New Orleans Saints lost, 30–7, to the Dallas Cowboys on August 21, 2006, in their second preseason game.
