Quentin Tarantino ( Full name: Quentin Jerome Tarantino) is an American film director, producer, writer, and actor. His films are characterized by non-linear storylines, frequent references to popular culture and film genres,  dark humor, extended dialogue, stylized violence, the pervasive use of profanity, cameos, and ensemble casts.

Other directorial tropes that identify Quentin’s style include the use of songs from the 1960s and 70s,  imagery of women’s bare feet, and fictional brand parodies. Quentin launched his career as an independent filmmaker with the release of the crime film Reservoir Dogs in 1992. Pulp Fiction was his second film released in  1994. A dark comedy crime thriller, which was a major success with critics and audiences winning countless awards such as the Palme d’Or and the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay.

In 1996, he  Quentin appeared in From Dusk till Dawn, 1996 where he also wrote the screenplay. His third film, Jackie Brown in 1997 paid homage to blaxploitation films. Quentin directed Kill Bill: Volume 1 in 2003, inspired by the traditions of martial arts films. This was followed by Volume 2 in 2004. Later, he made the exploitation slasher Death Proof (2007), part of a double feature with Robert Rodriguez.

The film was released under the collective title Grindhouse. Quentin’s next film Inglourious Basterds in 2009 told an alternate history with the war film genre.  The actor followed this with Django Unchained in 2012.
