Pete Delkus is an American Meteorologist. He currently serves as the Chief Meteorologist at WFAA-TV ( ABC-affiliated ) based in Dallas, Texas. Pete joined WFAA-TV in June 2005 and has worked as the Chief Meteorologist since then. He won 16 Emmy Awards since joining the station. Apart from being a journalist with two seals of approval, Pete is also an outstanding athlete, Before he became a famous meteorologist, Pete used to be a basketball player, a skilled pitcher to be precise. He had an all-star college career that involved a trip to the College World Series as an All-America pitcher. Pete has several records as a pitcher at SIUE. In 1987 after college, he signed as a Free Agent with the Minnesota Twins organization. When Pete was pitching for the double-A Kenosha, Wisconsin team in 1988, he did finish the season with 33 saves as well as a 0.26 ERA.
In 1989 in triple-A Orlando, he played 140 innings and saved 10 games with a 1.87 ERA. Again, Pete enjoyed a successful career, earning the “Minnesota Twins Minor League Player of the Year” as well as the Rolaids Relief Man awards. Additionally, Peter played professional baseball for parts of six years with the Minnesota Twins organization. However, his career ended prematurely as a result of a serious elbow injury.
