The officers justified their actions as self-defense, stating that Ahmed attempted to ram his car into them. However, Noura has disputed the claims.

They concluded that the car’s collision with the checkpoint was an accident. They added that the Israeli shooting constituted an extrajudicial killing and excessive use of lethal force. According to the investigation, the Israeli military had denied Ahmed urgent medical care.
