Micah Richards ( Full name: Micah Lincoln Richards) is an English sports pundit and former professional footballer. He currently works for Sky Sports and BBC Sports. Also, he is a club ambassador of Manchester City. During his playing career, Micah was a right-back. He played in Premier League and English Football League for Manchester City and Aston Villa, and in Serie A for Fiorentina.

Micah made his full England debut in November 2006 and became the youngest defender to be called up to the England squad. Between 2006 and 2012, he won 13 caps for England and played in the Great Britain squad for the 2012 Olympic football tournament. Micah started his career at Manchester City where he made 245 appearances across all competitions in ten seasons.

He won a Premier League title and an FA Cup. Micah joined Aston Villa in 2015 following a season on loan at Fiorentina in Italy’s Serie A. He played 31 times for Villa until October 2016. Several knee injuries restricted his appearances prior to his retirement in July 2019. After his playing career officially came to an end, Micah became a football pundit.

During his playing career, he was involved with football’s anti-racism campaign called Kick It Out. Micah was among several footballers in October 2012 who were not allowed to wear a Kick It Out anti-racism T-shirt, due to a protest against the lack of action by the organization in the wake of high-profile cases of footballers racially abusing their opponents during matches. Micah was a Twitter user but quit using the platform site in February 2012 after racial abuse. He made a cameo appearance in T2’s music video titled “Heartbroken” which featured Jodie Aysh.

The News of the World published an article about Micah in December 2007 after he was involved in an incident in a disabled toilet. He faced no disciplinary action from h Sven-Goran Eriksson although the club was upset by the incident. Micah was arrested in February 2009 for the alleged assault of a man outside of a nightclub in Hale, Greater Manchester, at around 12.30 am. Ultimately, the case was dropped after the prosecutors decided to press no charges. February 2022, Micah and Chris Sutton spoke about mental health issues in their playing days.
