Before being named CEO, she served as executive vice president of global product development, purchasing, and supply chain. In 2017, Mary was the highest paid Detroit Three executive, with a total remuneration of $21.96 million. In November 2018, she announced the closure of five North American plants and 14,000 workers lay offs.
