He went on his Facebook account and wrote that he was at home resting, following all CDC guidelines, quarantine protocols, and the recommendations of his doctors. Moreover, Letlow was hospitalized in Monroe. Later, he was transferred to the intensive care unit of Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport on December 23 after his condition deteriorated. According to data from the state health department, Letlow was one of more than 7,000 people in Louisiana who had died from COVID-19 since March 2020.

Letlow’s spokesman Andrew Bautsch confirmed on Tuesday, December 29 evening that he had died of complications of COVID-19 at Ochsner-LSU Health Shreveport. Letlow died at the age of 41, days before he was scheduled to be sworn into office as Louisiana’s incoming Republican member of the U.S. House. Moreover, Gov.
