From 1989 to 1991, Lisa served as a news anchor for WFAA-TV based in Dallas, Texas. In 1992, she joined ABC News’ World News Now and became one of the original anchors, along with Aaron Brown when the show launched.
However, Lisa left the show the following year to become the host for Good Morning America Sunday. From there, Lisa moved to Los Angeles, California to work as an anchor for KABC-TV in 1994. In 1997, she replace Joan Lunden as co-anchor of Good Morning America. Lisa was later teamed up with Kevin Newman when Charles Gibson left the show in 1998. Nonetheless, Good Morning America, which had been struggling in the ratings, continued to perform poorly. Both Lisa and Newman were replaced and reassigned to other duties within ABC News in 1999.
