She first joined ABC7 News KGO-TV in 1995. Lisa was welcomed by June fog and her most exciting moment was the December 1995 wind storm that slammed the Bay Area. Additionally, the Jewel Box in Golden Gate Park was destroyed and giant redwoods near our home swayed but did not fall. Lisa returned to the station in 2002 and she has been there since then working as a meteorologist and presenter.
Her biggest weather challenge is the 1997El Nino winter of 1997. The tremendous Pacific storms brought drenching rains and damaging winds to the Bay Area which she thinks is the hardest rain in her life. Impressively, that was the year she was honored for a second time with an award for forecasting by the Bay Area Women in Radio and Television.
She began her journalism career in Knoxville, Tennessee working as a weather forecaster for WBIR-TV from 1991 to 1993. While there, Lisa earned her forecasting Seal of Approval from the American Meteorology Society. Lisa moved to WFLD in Chicago where she worked as a meteorologist for two years. There, she forecasted weather and more lake effect snow and ‘Alberta Clippers’ that make winters famous in Chicago.
Lisa worked as a meteorologist for the KRON station for 5 years before taking a break of two years and relocated to Hawaii with her family. Additionally, she took the break to concentrate more on raising her growing family. However, before developing a case of island fever, Lisa got an opportunity to return home and be part of the outstanding weather team at KGO-TV.
