She joined the Council on Foreign Relations in 2004, as the senior fellow of the Global Health Program. Laurie has served on a broad variety of public health issues such as SARS, avian flu, tuberculosis, malaria, shipping container clinics, the intersection of HIV and AIDS, as well as national security.
