Keith Marler Fox 9
He is often described as an Emmy Award-winning Meteorologist who had issues in college trying to figure out what to do with his life. Keith loved science but did not want to be stuck in a lab all day. In addition, he wanted to teach but wanted more than just a small classroom. On one spring evening, Keith had a moment of career clarity and decided to combine his two dream jobs which were a teacher and a game show host. In the end, he came up with the perfect solution which was to become a weatherman. To pursue his new discovery, he attended the University of Maryland where he acquired his bachelor’s degree in Physics and Mathematics.
Keith later enrolled in graduate school to study meteorology. He got his first taste of broadcasting while working on his master’s degree when he interned at TV stations in Washington, D.C. Despite making what he described as “the world’s worst resume tape”, Keith got his first official television job at KBJR-News6 in Duluth where he served as a meteorologist. Deciding that what the couple needed was a fresh start, they packed up and moved back to Minnesota in 2003 after Keith got a position at FOX 9.
While still at FOX 9, he has provided more than 100,000-morning weather reports “On the 9s” and obtained numerous awards including America’s Favorite Weather Forecaster.
