She explains that her phone calls and letters were unanswered and so she hired a lawyer and announced her paternity suit before a packed press conference, while at the age of seventeen.

In the middle of the media uproar, her father did the unexpected thing and invited Kara to come to live with him so he could get to know her better. Presently, Kara uses her story to talk about the transformational effect and importance of a father in a child’s life. She also speaks on the power of forgiveness at a time when Fatherlessness is an epidemic in the world.

At first, her husband and children tested negative but after another test, her husband tested positive and their children negative. Her husband’s symptoms were not seen and the only thing he felt was being overly tired. The two quarantined in their house and ensured they did not meet their children during that isolation period. Currently, she is healthy and fully healed.
