Josh Dallas (Full Name: Joshua Paul Dallas) is a popular American actor known due to his roles in the ABC television series Once Upon a Time as Prince Charming/David Nolan and in the NBC/Netflix sci-fi drama series Manifest as Ben Stone.
He became cast as Fandral in Thor following Irish actor Stuart Townsend withdrew from the role days prior to filming was to start. As Josh was a virtually unknown actor when cast, there became some speculation that Josh was chosen because there simply was not enough time to find a bigger-name replacement.
To get prepared for the role, Josh viewed Errol Flynn as an inspiration (Stan Lee, in 1965, formed the character based on Flynn), and watched many of his films. He did not replay his role in the sequel to Thor. Zachary Levi replaced Josh in the later two films.
