Therefore, Jon informed his doctor and underwent several tests before finding a solution. Eventually, he was diagnosed with an acoustic neuroma after an MRI disclosed the tumor behind his right eardrum. After getting a second opinion, Jon chose the option of surgery over radiation.
Additionally, the surgical procedure was nine months long. After the surgery was a success, Jon was was on a leave of absence for two months before resuming his job as a sports anchor on WBZ-FM.
