Previously, Jon worked at the WJAC-TV station in Johnstown. He served as a weekend anchor and reporter. Jon was a key to WJAC’s coverage of the September 11, 2001 attack on America.

Most importantly, Jon has done a wide range of stories for Newswatch 16. He was a winner of the Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters (PAB) award, due to his reports after he went to Haiti following the devastating earthquake in 2010 with a team from central Pennsylvania. Jon won a PAB award together with Julie Sidoni for their extensive on-air coverage of the historic flooding of 2011. The PAB honored him for his feature reporting of a World War II veteran who was the feature of a best-selling novel about his heroic story from the war.
