Joel McHale ( Joel Edward McHale) is an American television host, producer, writer, actor, and comedian. He is best known for hosting The Soup from 2004 to 2015 as well as his role on the NBC sitcom Community as Jeff Winger from 2009 to 2015. Joel has performed in films such as Open Season 2 in 2008, Spy Kids: All the Time in the World in 2011, and also Ted in 2012. He as well starred in the short-lived CBS sitcom titled The Great Indoors from 2016 to 2017.
Since 2019, Joel has been hosting a reboot of Card Sharks. Also, he portrays the superhero Sylvester Pemberton / Starman on the show called Stargirl since 2020. In 2020, Joel hosted a special aftershow which interviewed major subjects from the Netflix documentary series titled Tiger King. Also, he voiced Johnny Cage in the direct-to-video martial arts film titled Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revenge in 2020 whom Joel reprises in the sequel Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle of the Realms in 2021.
