Joe Micheletti ( Full name: Joseph Robert Micheletti) is an American journalist, ice hockey analyst, reporter, and former defenseman. Between 1977 and 1979, Joe played in 142 World Hockey Association (WHA) games with the Calgary Cowboys and also Edmonton Oilers. Between 1979 and 1982, he played in 158 National Hockey League (NHL) games with the St. Louis Blues and Colorado Rockies.
Joe’s brother Pat Micheletti is a former NHL player. The Hibbing, Minnesota native graduated from Hibbing High School before college. While in college, Joe played college hockey under Herb Brooks at the University of Minnesota. While there, he was a member of the 1974 and 1976 national championship teams. Joe broke team records set by Lou Nanne in both assists as well as points during his senior. He was the most valuable player of the 1976 NCAA finals.
