Ryan Hanrahan is an American Meteorologist. He currently serves as the chief meteorologist at the NBC station in Hartford, Connecticut. Ryan is a self-described weather nut. The weather has been a huge part of his life for as long as he can remember. Blizzards, tornadoes, hurricanes, and everything in between fascinates him. Ryan was born in Greenwich but brought up in Branford and eventually went to live in Guilford where he attended middle and high school.
Ryan started his television career at WNYT-NewsChannel 13 in Albany and in 2005, he joined NBC Connecticut. Currently, Ryan is the midday and 5 p.m. meteorologist at NBC Connecticut. For many years he reported on news stories from all over the state and was able to meet a number of fantastic people and tell amazing stories. Hurricanes, blizzards, and floods are a challenge to forecast and are why Ryan got into this field. Apart from forecasting the weather, he also enjoys spending his spare time with his Golden Retriever, Doppler, relaxing on the beach, or sometimes on the slopes skiing. He also spends part of his leisure time while volunteering with Special Olympics Connecticut or visiting schools across the state as he talks about the weather.
