Joe Decamara ( Full Name: Joseph “The Hammer” DeCamara ) is a popular American sports radio personality currently working as the morning sports talk show host on 94.1 WIP in Philadelphia, alongside James Seltzer and Jon Ritchie. Previously Joe co-hosted the midday show on Philadelphia sports radio station WIP.

He started her profession as a producer at the radio station WBCB. He also worked as the host of nationally syndicated shows for ESPN Radio. Joe claims serving at ESPN gave him the confidence to believe “I can hang with this group.”Joe served as an announcer for the Arena Football League. Jow served as the play-by-play announcer for the Philadelphia Soul in 2016 for Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia as well as a color analyst for ArenaBowl XXX in 2016. Before joining sports broadcasting, Joe served at ING Barings as an operations options specialist.

After three and a half months into his work at WBCB, Joe was given a sports radio show on Mondays and Thursdays following Phillies games. Joe’s mother produced the show and his four older siblings and uncle were regular callers. Merrill helped secure Joe a job in 2003 as a producer of WYSP-FM’s Eagle’s pre and post-game show.

Early in 2004, Joe served as Howard Eskin’s producer for his show on WIP. Joe joined 97.5 The Fanatic as part of their launch in 2005. In 2007, Joe became promoted to serve as their Assistant Program Director. In 2011, Joe started hosting his own show on The Fanatic. He hosted The Fanatic’s Pre-Game Show before all Eagles games and a Wednesday weeknight show alongside Ron Jaworski. The Joe DeCamara show aired from 6:00 PM until 10:00 PM from 2015 through 2016 on The Fanatic. Joe also served as a weekend host on ESPN Radio.

In 2016, Joe left The Fanatic to join WIP as their mid-day show host alongside Jon Ritchie. Spike Eskin, WIP’s then-Program Director, claimed he opted to hire Joe due to he was impressed by his “preparation for his show and his desire to get better.” Joe hosts a famous trivia show against a caller called “Beat The Hammer” on Fridays. He has an 87% win percentage in “Beat the Hammer.”
