In July 2019, his latest book titled Hungry: Eating, Road-tripping, and Risking It All with the Greatest Chef in the World, was published under the Tim Duggan Books imprint of Penguin Random House. Jeff lived as a writer in Prague in 1991 following the Velvet Revolution. He went back to the United States in 1992 and worked as a music critic as well as a local columnist for the Santa Barbara News-Press in Santa Barbara, California.
