James Murray ( Full name: James Stephen “Murr” Murray) is an American actor,  improvisational comedian, author, and producer who comes from the New York City borough of Staten Island. He is a member of a comedy troupe called The Tenderloins that consists of Sal Vulcano, Joe Gatto, and Brian Quinn. James, along with the other members of The Tenderloins stars in the tv series titled Impractical Jokers premiering on TruTV on December 15, 2011.

During the Impractical Jokers season three punishment, “Brother-in-Loss” from Sal, James and Jenna annulled their marriage. He later became engaged to Melyssa Davies in 2019 after the two met at James’ launch party for his book titled Awakened. on September 25, 2020, James wedded Melyssa.

The team started practicing improvisation at Gatto’s house. They went on to tour as an improv & sketch comedy troupe in 1999. They named themselves The Tenderloins and started producing comedy sketches together. The group posted them on Metacafe, MySpace, and YouTube. Subsequently, they accumulated millions of views online. In 2007, the Tenderloins won the $100,000 grand prize in NBC’s competition, “It’s Your Show” for the sketch “Time Thugs”.
