She is popularly known for her role in the NBC TV series 227 as Sandra Clark, and the ABC/The WB sitcom Sister, Sister as Lisa Landry. Harry is the first African-American to win Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. In addition, in 2021 she joined the soap opera Days of Our Lives with a recurring role as Paulina Price.
