He also worked as a regular contributor to Foreign Policy and Money magazines. Jack created the comic strip Mixed Media which ran from 1994 to 1999 appearing in over 170 newspapers. He was able to raise $30,000 for the families of the astronauts in 1986 through sales of copies of his cartoons about the space shuttle Challenger accident.
Further, his work has appeared in U.S. newspapers like The Washington Post, The Philadelphia Inquirer, The New York Times, Chicago Tribune, and The Seattle Times. Additionally, he has authored several books and won the Pulitzer Prize for Editorial Cartooning in 2016. Also, he was voted one of the top five cartoonists in the United States by the readers of The Week magazine in 2006.
