Donna Allstaedt, of Brevard and Steven Allstaedt, of Asheville, were proud to announce the engagement of their daughter, Ingrid Kathleen Allstaedt, of Asheville, to her husband John Charles Kirtley, also of Asheville.

The bride graduated from UNC Asheville with a degree in mass communications. John is the son of Mrs. Rebecca Kirtley and Mr. Charles Kirtley, of Hendersonville. John is also a graduate of East Carolina University, earned a communications degree in both film and production.

The two are employed at WLOS News 13 ABC Television. Ingrid is an award-winning reporter and anchor, while John is an award-winning photojournalist. Their wedding occurred on  Oct. 4, 2013, in Asheville attended by both friends and family members.
