Hideo Kojima is a Japanese video game designer, producer, director, and writer who is regarded as an auteur of video games. He developed a strong passion for action/adventure cinema and literature while growing up. Hideo was hired by Konami in 1986 for which he designed and wrote Metal Gear in 1987 for the MSX2. MSX2 was a game that laid the foundations for stealth games and the Metal Gear series. The game became Hideo’s best-known and most appreciated work.

In Osaka, he spent much of his time indoors, watching television or making figurines.
His parents started a tradition of the family watching a film together each night, and Hideo was not allowed to go to bed until the film had finished. His family was fond of European cinema, westerns, and horror. They did not limit the type of films Hideo was allowed to watch. He took an interest in filmmaking after a friend brought a Super 8 camera to school. They started filming movies together, charging other children 50 yen to see them.
Hideo tricked his parents into funding a trip to an island off the coast of Japan. He did not tell them he wanted to film there. Instead of filming, Hideo spent his time swimming, but on the last day, he changed the plot to be about zombies. However, did not show the film to his parents. The family had moved to Kawanishi, Hyōgo, in the Kansai region of Japan by the time Hideo was in his teens
His father died when Hideo was 13. He has discussed the impact of his father’s death in interviews and the financial hardship faced by his family after they lost their breadwinner. Hideo enrolled at university to study economics. While in college, he decided to join the video game industry. Hideo wrote fiction while studying and included a short story in his thesis.

Hideo Kojima Xbox
He had planned to showcase his games at Keighley’s events. During Microsoft’s Xbox and Bethesda showcase on June 12, 2022, he confirmed his next game will be published by Xbox Game Studios. Hideo said there has been a game he’s always wanted to create, which will be like “no one has ever experienced or seen before.” But due to Microsoft’s cloud technology, he says it’s possible. Hideo admitted it “may take some time” before the game is completed, but that’s to be expected at this point.
