Graham Boynton is a British journalist, travel writer, consultant, and editor. He started his career in journalism as a political reporter during the Rhodesian Bush War. Due to Graham’s reportage in South Africa, the apartheid government declared him an ‘undesirable alien,’ after which he was deported by the government. Subsequently, he established himself in London and wrote for international magazines.
Graham was appointed editor of Business Traveller magazine in the mid-1980s. He moved to New York City in 1988 where he worked as a writer and editor for Condé Nast Publications for ten years. He served as an editor at Condé Nast Traveler and a contracted writer for Vanity Fair. Also, he wrote for a number of other publications in America and the UK as well. Graham returned to the UK in 1998 to become the travel editor of the Daily and Sunday Telegraph.
He published Last Days in Cloud Cuckooland a year earlier. This book is about the end of white minority rule in South Africa. The book was named one of the Washington Post’s Best Non-Fiction Books of 1998. From 1998 to December 2011, Graham was Group Travel Editor of the Telegraph Media Group.
