A member of the Republican Party, George unsuccessfully campaigned for the party’s nomination in the 2022 Texas Attorney General election. From August 1998 to June 1999, George taught social studies at a public high school in Homestead, Florida. In March 2007, the United States Navy Reserve selected George for training as an intelligence officer through the direct commission officer program, a Navy initiative whereby applicants in specialized civilian fields forgo the typical prerequisites of a commission. George was commissioned as a Navy Reserve Officer in May 2007. He worked in Afghanistan for eight months from June 2010 until February 2011. During the deployment, George was given a different name for security purposes. He left the U.S. Navy Reserve in May 2017 as a lieutenant.
