Fat Joe (Full name: Joseph Antonio Cartagena) is an American rapper from New York City. He commenced his music career as a member of hip hop group Diggin’ in the Crates Crew (D.I.T.C.).

Later, Joe began a solo career and set up his own label, Terror Squad, in which he signed Big Pun, Tony Sunshine, Remy Ma, Cuban Link, Armageddon, Prospect, Triple Seis, DJ Khaled, and discover producers Cool & Dre. Joe is best known for the songs Lean Back in 2004, What’s Luv? in 2002, Make It Rain in 2006, and All the Way Up in 2016.

Moreover, he has appeared in several films, such as Scary Movie 3, Happy Feet, and She’s Gotta Have It. He was born and raised in the Bronx borough of New York City, by his parents Ernesto Delgado and Marie Cartagena. Joe’s parents belong to Puerto Rican and Cuban descent. He grew up in the Forest Houses, a public housing project in the South Bronx neighborhood of Morrisania, where he started stealing at a young age to support his family.
