He won with 52.5% to 47.5% of the vote, about a 4,000-vote margin in Senate District 30, which stretches from northern Indianapolis into southern Hamilton County. Qaddoura assumed office on November 4, 2020. His current term ends on November 5, 2024. Qaddoura reported that he was honored to be the first Muslim American elected to the Statehouse but noted that wasn’t part of his platform.
