Eric Karros (Full name: Eric Peter Karros) is an American journalist presently working as a play-by-play announcer at FOX Sports 1 since 2014. However, formerly he was a baseball player and played in Major League Baseball from 1991 to 2004.

During his career as a player, Eric played for several teams including Los Angeles Dodgers, Chicago Cubs, and Oakland Athletics. He was awarded several awards for his hard work and several achievements. On September 1, 1991, Eric played in his first Major League game as a pinch-runner against the Chicago Cubs. His first at-bat was during the 1992 season in a game against the San Diego Padres, where he made a two-run shot to deep left field off of Craig Lefferts for his first career home run. During the 1992 season, Eric featured in 149 games, driving in 88 runs, and hitting 20 home runs. In 1992, Eric was named the National League Rookie of the Year. During his time with the Dodgers, Eric recorded a batting average of just under .270 and an average of almost 25 home runs a year.

He became the third player in the Dodger’s history with a record of 30 home runs and 100 RBI in five different seasons. On August 22, 2000, he made history by hitting two homers in the same inning. However, in 2002 he was traded along with Mark Grudzielanek for Todd Hundley and Chad Hermansen of the Chicago Cubs.

After playing for the team in the 2003 season with the Cubs, Eric was granted a free agency and later left the team at the end of the year. With the Chicago Cub Eric played 114 games, .286 hits with 12 home runs, and 40 RBI. In 2004 he joined the Oakland Athletics, where he played his final MLB game on July 21, 2004, and officially left the team on August 3, 2004.
