Doug Stanhope is a 57-year-old comedian born in 1967 in Worcester, Massachusetts, USA. He is the son of “Russ” Russell Herbert Stanhope and Bonnie who was a waitress. His father Russ worked as head of science at Stanhope’s school. When Stanhope was 10, his mother Bonnie stopped drinking alcohol and divorced Russ. Stanhope and Bonnie moved to Florida while his older brother Jeff lived with his father.


Stanhope has a current partner Amy “Bingo” Bingaman, whom he refers to as his wife and girlfriend. Amy and Stanhope met around 2005 and now reside in Bisbee, Arizona. Moreover, he opposes having children and cites overpopulation as a reason, before his relationship with Amy, Stanhope dated comedian and former attorney Betsy Wise for 18 months.

He had a girlfriend Renee Morrison in 2002 and the two staged a fake marriage ceremony in Las Vegas. Renee and Stanhope were expecting a child but opted for abortion and he underwent a vasectomy.

Stanhope’s comedy career kicked off when she was 23 in 1990 as he performed at an open mic night at a Las Vegas bar. He then moved to Phoenix, Arizona, and landed a gig as a house MC at a comedy club. He had a three-week contest where he emerged as the winner of the San Francisco International Comedy Competition against Dane Cook in 1995. Furthermore, Fox aired back-to-back episodes of Stanhope’s hidden camera show Invasion of the Hidden Cameras in July 2002.

Stanhope served as co-host of the fifth and sixth seasons of The Man Show with Joe Rogan in 2003 and 2004. In 2005, he hosted his radio show on SIRIUS Satellite Radio and also Girls Gone Wild: America Uncovered.
