Dhivya Suryadevara is a popular Indian-American executive who was chief financial officer of Stripe, an American e-commerce payments company. Prior to that, Dhivya worked as an Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of General Motors. Dhivya began her career at PricewaterhouseCoopers while attending the University of Madras. Dhivya later interned at the World Bank in 2002 and went on to UBS as an investment banker.
In 2004, Dhivya joined General Motors. In 2013, Dhivya was appointed the CFO and chief investment officer of GM Asset Management. Dhivya accepted a role as Vice President of Finance and Treasurer in 2015. In 2017, Dhivya became the first female Chief Financial Officer at General Motors. On August 13, 2020, Dhivya resigned her role as chief financial officer at General Motors to serve as Chief Financial Officer for e-commerce payments company, Stripe. She was named to Fortune’s 40 Under 40 in 2015 and 2018. She left Stripe in April 2023.
