While in college, Debbie became a member of the women’s fraternity Alpha Omicron Pi. She as well worked at MTV as an intern while still attending NYU. In a very short while, Debbie moved up the ranks and become story coordinator for UnFiltered.

The segment was focused on firefighter training, in which the journalist practiced a fall from a three-story building at a Los Angeles fire station.

Debbie landed incorrectly on an airbag and was immediately rushed to the hospital for a possible head injury. She was temporarily blind as a result of a closed head wound. In March 2005, Good Day Live was canceled by its syndicators despite the massive promotion, including a mall tour featuring Debbies and Arthel Neville.

Debbie joined E!’s coverage of the Golden Globe Awards in January 2006.
