In 2000, he began attending the French Culinary Institute now defunct, International Culinary Center located in New York City. David also worked part-time at Mercer Kitchen in Manhattan while he was training. He got a job answering phones at Tom Colicchio’s Craft restaurant. Momofuku CCDC in Washington, D.C., and Momofuku Nishi in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood were permanently closed. Momofuku Seiōbo in Sydney was also closed in 2021 by the group.
