Daniel Pipes is a popular American historian, writer, and commentator currently working as the president of the Middle East Forum. He is also the publisher of its Middle East Quarterly journal. Daniel’s writing centers on American foreign policy and the Middle East and criticism of Islam.
Following graduating with a Ph.D. from Harvard in 1978 and learning abroad, Daniel taught at universities such as Harvard, Chicago, Pepperdine, as well as the U.S. Naval War College on a short-term basis but never held a permanent academic position. He later worked as director of the Foreign Policy Research Institute, prior to creating the Middle East Forum.
Daniel was an adviser to Rudy Giuliani’s 2008 presidential campaign.
