Curtis Yarvin (Full Name: Curtis Guy Yarvin) also known by the pen name Mencius Moldbug is a popular American blogger, software engineer, and Internet entrepreneur. He currently blogs about his political views on Substack under the page name Gray Mirror.
He became known together with fellow theorist Nick Land, for creating the anti-egalitarian and anti-democratic philosophical movement titled the Dark Enlightenment or neo-reactionary movement (NRx). In Curtis’ blog Unqualified Reservations, which he wrote from 2007 through 2014, and on his more recent Substack page titled Gray Mirror, which he began in 2020, he argues that American democracy is a failed experiment that should be replaced by monarchy or corporate governance.

In 2002, Curtis launched the Urbit computer platform. In 2013, Curtis co-founded the company Talon to oversee the Urbit project and helped lead it until 2019.
