Chris Core is an American radio and television personality. Previously he served on Washington, D.C.’s 630 WMAL and was the host of The Chris Show from 9 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. EST. Chris’ program was one of the highest-rated shows in the competitive drive time slot prior to being moved, mostly unchanged, to its morning slot.
It covered a wide variety of topics ranging from politics, local and current affairs, the Global War on Terrorism, show business, and others until it became canceled on February 29, 2008. In 1976, he replaced Ed Meyer as veteran news talker Bill Trumbull’s cohost on the afternoon program “Two for the Road”. Within a few years, the name of the show became The Trumbull and Core Show. Eventually, this became The Chris Show.
Brooke Stevens served as a co-host after Bill Trumbull’s retirement in 1996, prior to leaving the station in 2000. On February 29, 2008, Chris became dismissed from WMAL after serving for the station for over 33 years.
