Bret Hedican (Full name: Bret Michael Hedican) is an American former professional ice hockey player presently working as a studio analyst at NBC Sports California. During his career as an Ice hockey player, Bret won the US Olympian twice and the Stanley Cup Championship. He has played for several teams including St. Louis Blues, Vancouver Canucks, Florida Panthers, Carolina Hurricanes, and Anaheim Ducks.

At the end of his junior season, Bret recorded 19 goals and 30 assists and had the most points scored by a defenseman in a season with 48.

After completing his junior year Bret still played for St. Louis Blues, where he made his first NHL debut on March 27, 1992, and made his first NHL goal against Chicago Blackhawks on April 15. Unfortunately, he suffered a knee injury in September which delayed his start to the 1992–93 season.
He joined the season on November 27 and scored a 7-5 win against the Vancouver Canucks. On March 21-1994 Bret and Nathan LaFayette were traded to the Vancouver Canucks for Jeff Brown and Craig Janney respectively.
