Bernie Federko is a Canadian former professional ice hockey center of Ukrainian ancestry. He played fourteen seasons in the National Hockey League from 1976 through 1990. Bernie started playing hockey at a young age in his hometown of Foam Lake, Saskatchewan.
He served as the captain of the 1971 Bantam provincial champions. Moreover, Bernie also played Senior hockey with the local Foam Lake Flyers of the Fishing Lake Hockey League. He won the league scoring title as a bantam-aged player. He continued his career with the Saskatoon Blades of the WHL where he set and still holds the team record for assists.
