Saima Mohsin is a Pakistan-American who has been a federal prosecutor for decades and serving in the U.S. Attorney’s Office since 2002. President Joe Biden’s administration appointed Mohsin as the acting US attorney for Michigan’s Eastern District. On February 2, she will resume office after the current U.S. attorney for the district, Matthew Schneider, steps down on February 1. Serving for three years, Schneider announced his resignation and said Mohsin will replace him. According to federal officials and Muslim advocates, Mohsin would be the first Muslim to be a U.S. attorney in Michigan and the country
Merrick Garland (Full name: Merrick Brian Garland) is an American lawyer, jurist, and attorney general of the United States. He served as a United States circuit judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. Garland has served on that court since 1997. On January 7, 2021, President Joe Biden nominated Garland for the position of United States attorney general. Garland now serves as the Attorney General of the United States.
LaToya Cantrell is an American politician serving as the Democratic Mayor of New Orleans, Louisiana. She has held the post since May 7, 2018, when she was sworn in. Cantrell became is the first black woman to lead New Orleans in the city’s history. She is the 62nd Mayor of the city of New Orleans. Before becoming mayor, She represented District B on the New Orleans City Council from 2012 to 2018.
Shannon Bream is an American journalist and anchor. Currently, she serves as an anchor for the Fox News Channel. Bream is best known as the reporter of Fox News’ Supreme Court and the anchor of America’s News Headquarters. In 2017, she became the host of the prime time program, Fox News @ Night. Occasionally Bream also serves as a replacement anchor for Special Report with Bret Baier, Fox News Sunday.
Bill Weir (Full name: William Francis Weir) is an American television journalist based in Manhattan. Currently, he serves as a correspondent and anchor for CNN and the creator and host of the global documentary series “The Wonder List with Bill Weir.” Weir co-anchored Nightline on ABC television network in the United States and co-anchored the weekend edition of Good Morning America from 2004 to 2010.
Alexei Navalny (Full name: Alexei Anatolievich Navalny) is a Russian opposition leader, politician, lawyer, and anti-corruption activist. He received an award of the “Person of the Year” award in 2009 from a Russian business newspaper called “Vidrosti” for his contribution against corruption. Navalny is quite active on social media, where he has more than six million subscribers on YouTube and over two million Twitter followers. He came to international prominence through organizing demonstrations and running for office. Navalny wanted to advocate reforms against corruption in Russia, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and his government. He has been described as “the man Vladimir Putin fears most” by The Wall Street Journal. President Putin avoids directly referring to Navalny by name.
