Ashley Baylor is an American meteorologist. She currently serves as a weather forecaster at WTNH ( ABC Affiliate). Ashely joined the station’s weather team in January 2019. She had an interest in the weather since she was 9 years old. The year after Hurricane Hugo made landfall there, Ashley moved to Charleston, South Carolin. The hurricane occurred in September 1989 across the northeastern Caribbean as well as the Southeastern United States.
Even though she didn’t live through Hugo, the devastation of the hurricane was still visible a year later. In 1992, still in Charleston, Hurricane Andrew occurred in southern Florida. Ashley remembers being glued to the TV while watching the coverage. Ever since. she has been hooked. Ashley is an active member of the National Weather Association. While there, Ashley made some of her most memorable storms such as Hurricane Matthew, the Halloween Nor’easter in 2011, as well as Hurricane Sandy.
Before becoming part of WWLP, Ashley worked for three years at WEAU based in Eau Claire, WI. She as well worked for several months in New York City as a weather producer. In 2014 and 2013, Ashley won as the “Best Meteorologist”, voted in by the Valley Advocate. Since January 2015, Ashley used to be a member of WAVY’s Super Doppler 10 team of meteorologists. However, On Jan 21, 2019, she left the organization so as she could join Storm Team 8 of WTNH/WCTX in New Haven, Connecticut. When she left the team, Ashley tweeted “Everyone here has been super friendly and sweet. While I’m thrilled to return to New England and work with a fabulous weather team at Channel 8, I will miss the friends I made in Virginia.”
