Eva Zymaris WFSB | Leaving WFSB
The journalist left WFSB, in July 2020 after working there for 4 years. Her Internships at the TODAY Show, as well as Sirius XM Radio in New York City, prepared Eva for her professional career. It also kept her closer to home in New Jersey. While there, she visits her family regularly during her free time. Her broadcast journalism career started after her graduation from the University of Syracuse. She became part of the WTNH News 8 team in August 2020.
One of her major assignments was highlighting one man in West Hartford who had a random act of kindness. After he noticed his neighbor would sit on the sidewalk to admire the flag outside his home, the man built a small bench for his neighbor. The bench was named “Finn’s Bench”, and the story caught the eye of CBS News’ Steve Hartman. The following week, Steve went to Connecticut to share the story with a national audience. Before relocating to Connecticut, Eva served as a reporter as well as a fill-in anchor at Western Mass News based in Springfield, Massachusetts.
