She started her career in Lexington, Kentucky, where Aristea served at WKYT, a news station affiliated with CBS. While in summers at college, Aristea started at the station, then served for them a bit after graduation. There, Aristea reported stories, learned editing techniques, and researched leads.
Aristea made her way to Salt Lake City, Utah, after serving in Kentucky, where she took an anchor position at KTVX, an ABC-affiliated news station. She served as the station’s both morning and evening anchor, plus as a reporter.
At 9News, which is an NBC-affiliated station, Aristea finally left KTVX and made her way to Denver, Colorado. She took a hiatus from Colorado and then moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota, where she reported to the CBS-affiliated news station, WCCO. Aristea spent many years with WCCO and for her hard-hitting stories, even won an Emmy.
The WCCO station had been her favorite news station of her career so far and leaving it was one of the hardest decisions Aristea had ever made. Aristea was nevertheless excited to go back to her home state and be closer to the family. She left WCCO and started serving at Fox31 Denver News in 2014.
