She came to the United States after living for many years in Zimbabwe. Arikana is the CEO and founder of Bell Family Medical Centers in the United States.

She is also the Chair of the African Union-African Diaspora Health Initiative (AU-ADHI) where Arikana’s primary role is to organize African Diaspora health professionals to help in addressing the healthcare crisis on the continent of Africa. Since 2010 Arikana is also the International Chair for the African Union-Diaspora African Forum Americas (AU-DAF). In this role, Arikana has galvanized Africans and friends of Africa into actively participating in the development of their nations of origin in Africa. In 2003 Arikana became the President and CEO of the Durban Manor Hotel and Conference Center in Durban, South Africa.

She previously worked as the African Union representative to the US from 2017 until 2019. She worked as a family medicine specialist in Tennessee. She did medicine for 29 years in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. From 1996 until 2012 Arikanaa has been the Medical Director for Mid Tenn Medical Associates and the Smyrna Ambulance Service.
