Andrea McLean ( Full name: Andrea Jean McLean ) is a Scottish journalist and television presenter. She previously worked on ITV Daytime. From 1997 to 2008, Andrea was a weather presenter for GMTV. She was also a co-presenter on ITV’s daytime chat show called Loose Women from 2007 to 2020.
Andrea started her career in 1993 serving as as a freelance travel writer. In May 1994, she joined Central Press Features and was promoted to Production Editor in 1995. Andrea joined The Weather Channel in June 1996 and worked as a weather reporter for Talk Radio. She worked on Channel 5’s daily talk show Espresso in 1997 as one of the program’s panelists.
Andrea joined GMTV as a weather presenter in June 1997. Also, she co-hosted GMTV Today with Ben Shephard and Eamonn Holmes. Andrea hosted LK Today in Lorraine Kelly’s absence as well. Due to her bubbly personality and journalistic training, Andrea attracted the attention of various producers. She appeared on ITV’s afternoon debate show 3@Three in August 2010 as one of the panelists. Andrea played the role of Dr Audrey Grey in 2011 in the British drama film A Landscape of Lies. She took part in the BBC One gymnastics series titled Tumble in August 2014. She partnered with professional gymnast Alex Uttley. Andrea was the first celebrity to be eliminated on August 16.
