Alyssa Andrews is an American Meteorologist. She currently serves as a meteorologist at CBS4 and FOX59. previously, Alyssa served as a morning meteorologist for Wtvq’s Good Morning Kentucky, Good Day Kentucky, and News at Midday as well. Wtvq is an ABC affiliate based in Lexington, Kentucky. Alyssa became a morning meteorologist in May 2017. She got into news reporting at WTWO-TV based in Terre Haute.
Prior to returning back home to Indiana, Alyssa served as a weekday morning meteorologist at ABC-36 in Lexington, Ky. She worked there for close to 3 years. As a Midwest meteorologist, Alyssa has experience covering all types of weather. Her favorite weather to forecast is winter storms. When she is not forecasting, Alyssa is usually playing Call of Duty or Fortnite with friends and family.
She as well spend a lot of time at the dog park with her sassy pup, Lexi. Alyssa love Hoosier sports!She is a gigantic Colts, Pacers, and race fan. Alyssa has even covered many of their games and events, back when she was a sports reporter. Now that she is home, Alyssa will be going to as many IU football and basketball games as possible.

Brett anchored sports with Alyssa every now and then, however, he made the switch to the front office.

She graduated with a Bachelor of Artis degree in Telecommunications with a double emphasis in Industry & Management, and Design & Production. In addition to her telecom degree, Alyssa created a major called ‘Social Media Journalism’ through the Individualized Major Program. For this major, she combined journalism, communications, marketing, and independent study courses. Alyssa remained active in several student organizations all four years at Indiana. Her favorite board to serve on was Women in Technology.
She covered school sports on IUSTV, blogged for ‘We Are IU,’ and was also active in student political organizations. About a year after graduation, Alyssa continued her education at Mississippi State University for a master’s degree in meteorology. She maintained a 4.0 in meteorology and became a member of the Gamma Theta Upsilon honor society in geography. While at MSU, Alyssa conducted research on the relationship between weather and mood. She is always interested in how weather affects the lives of people and she enjoys studying it on an interpersonal level.

She currently serves as a meteorologist at CBS4 and FOX59. You can catch her regular forecasts every Saturday and Sunday night at 6 & 11 p.m. on CBS4. Indianapolis News is a familiar news station for Alyssa, as she interned at FOX59 with Sports Director Chris Hagan. She helped cover the local college teams, Indy 500, Pacers, and many more throughout college. Alyssa grew up in Greenwood and this made her partial to the south side. She is a proud Center Grove Trojan — like many family members before her.
During her undergraduate studies at Indiana University-Bloomington, Alyssa went back on some Friday nights to report sideline for CG Football games for the Center Grove Sports Network. As a senior at IU, she coached the CG High School cheer squad. It was a lot of fun coaching a team she used to play for. Alyssa’s broadcast career started as a sideline reporter for Indiana’s Big Ten Network student crew during undergrad. She then worked for IU Athletics where she covered men’s basketball and football in the marketing department as an online reporter.
Alyssa loved radio broadcasting and interned at Indy’s ESPN radio affiliate with JVM her freshman year. She became a reporter at WTWO-TV in Terre Haute after college. While there, Alyssa covered everything from politics,to sports, to weather. The station had her fill in for the weather department one day. She loved it so much that she went back to school to become a meteorologist.
