After a short while, came a lack of smell and taste after the aches and sore throat. Alexa underwent two different tests and her suspicions were confirmed that she had contracted the Coronavirus. Little did she know that her journey to fight the virus was far from over. She started experiencing difficulties in breathing. After three weeks of dealing with the virus, Alexa reached an emotional crossroads. It came to a point where catching her breath was a difficult task which resulted in anxiety and questions about how severe her case had turned.
In a duration of three weeks, she had gone through a lot to a point that she was scared and exhausted at the same time. Alexa discovered after three weeks that talking on the phone became too much for her to handle. After another trip to the hospital, she was told that she had pneumonia and as a result, she was prescribed two different inhalers. Alexa said that the inhalers worked but the virus was still there.
In week 4, she spiked a fever which resulted in another visit to urgent care. Alexa was tested for blood pressure and took a chest X-ray. For the first time in her life, her blood pressure was high. The doctors prescribed antibiotics to fight pneumonia.
