Ahmad Rashād (Full Name: Robert Earl Moore) is a former professional football player and an American sportscaster. He works as the host of a game show on Game Show Network called Tug of Words since November 2021. Prior to that, he worked as a studio anchor and game reporter for NBC and ABC, as well as hosting NBA Inside Stuff for 16 seasons. As a football player, he played the position of Wide receiver for Minnesota Vikings, St. Louis Cardinals, and Buffalo Bills.

He earned his high school diploma from Mount Tahoma High School. Upon graduation, he accepted an athletic scholarship to the University of Oregon in Eugene. Ahmad majored in elementary education and played football for the Ducks under head coach Jerry Frei.
He was also an active member of the Omega Psi Phi fraternity. Additionally, he coined Islam in 1972 from Pentecostalism and began studying Islam at the college. In 1973 he changed his name to Ahmad Rashād.

He was first drafted in the 1972 NFL Draft in the fourth overall section, taken by the St. Louis Cardinals. Ahmad played as a wingback and wide receiver in 1969 as a sophomore and made the all-conference team. He played for the St. Louis Cardinals from 1972 to 1973. In 1974 he played for the Buffalo Bills team for the one-game season.
He was a free agent, then was traded days before the start of the 1976 regular season to the Minnesota Vikings where he played for the team until 1982. During his time at the team, he appeared in the Super Bowl, was awarded Minnesota Vikings Ring of Honor, and was also Second-team All-Pro in 1979.
