Fred Armisen (Full Name: Fereydun Robert Armisen) is a popular American actor, comedian, writer, producer, and musician. Alongside his comedy colleague Carrie Brownstein, Armisen served as the co-creator and co-star of the IFC sketch comedy series Portlandia. Since 2019, Armisen co-stars and acts as writer and executive producer on the Spanish-language series Los Espookys, which he also co-created.
Armisen also co-created and stars in the mockumentary IFC series Documentary Now! from 2015–present with Bill Hader and Seth Meyers and the Showtime comedy series Moonbase 8 from 2020 to present) with John C. Reilly and Tim Heidecker. Armisen voiced Speedy Gonzales on The Looney Tunes Show from 2011 to 2013. He founded ThunderAnt.com, a website that features the comedy sketches created with Brownstein and is the bandleader and regular drummer for the Late Night with Seth Meyers house band, The 8G Band.
Due to his work on Portlandia, he was nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series in 2012, 2013, and 2014 as well as for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series in 2014.
