Sharon Bowen (Full Name: Sharon Y. Bowen ) is a popular American Chair of the Board of Directors of the New York Stock Exchange. She also works on the board of directors of Neuberger Berman Group LLC and Akamai Technologies, Inc. Sharon is also a Chair of Bakkt Trust and a partner of Seneca Women. She was also a Director of Intercontinental Exchange.

Previously, Sharon worked as a Commissioner of the U. S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) from June 9, 2014, to 2017. Prior to that, Sharon was a Vice Chair and Acting Chair at Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC). Sharon was also a partner in the New York office of Latham & Watkins LLP. She began her career in 1982 as an associate at Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP.

Her sister Sheila Bowen Taylor, was the first Black woman to work as a nuclear engineer there, serving on submarines and aircraft carriers.
